Borderland Spring Fling
Matt Stroika » Saturday May 21, 2005
The 2005 edition of the Borderland Spring Fling was a great success. The course was Borderland State Park, and the forecast of another rainy weekend scared off a few players, but 83 people showed up ready to play on what turned out to be a wonderful day of disc golf. The first round featured the short layout (White to White) for all players and many were able to keep it at par or better. What a contrast it was the second round when forced to shoot at the longer Blue basket positions. Most people shot on average of 20 strokes higher on this very challenging layout. This is the major annual fund raising tournament for Borderland and with sponsorships we were able to cover about half of the money required for the 9 new Chainstars that were installed in the weeks leading up to the Spring Fling.
