Barre Falls Open IV
Roger Gagnon » Wednesday May 11, 2005
Saturday April 30th brought NEFA golfers yet another rainy tournament day in Hubardston, MA at Barre Falls Dam. Barre Falls Dam is yes… another course located on an Army Corps of Engineer dam/reservoir site. This is becoming a trend! This was not only my first time visiting the course, but a first time for many other golfers I spoke to throughout the day. When arriving early, we drove slowly over the dam to take in the breathtaking view of many holes on the course.
The course was mostly dried out, after weeks upon weeks of flooded areas due to snow melting and many rain storms in the months of March and April. The rain held off for most of the first round, but a dry round was definitely not in the cards. The second round brought more steady rainfall, causing players to once again take out their umbrellas, and hold their discs in towels, or under shirts until it was time to throw. A few Pye Brook regulars attended the Barre Falls Open IV, and the results are listed below.
